Foggy, soggy days.
What do you do with them?
You can’t live with ’em, can’t live without ’em!
Arguing seems like a waste of energy.
Sometimes dark clouds win. Sometimes they slide away in the massive current where clouds live. Can you tell which way the game went on this day?
Darkness won. But it was a draught and we were happy.
On this day, we thought it would burn off.
But it socked-in more as the day progressed. The business of beaches took us away anyway; the surf still roared, the sitting, the walking, the usual children endlessly digging and building.
It was disorienting and beautiful. We waded our way through wet air, back to actual land.
But for a moment we held what is there and not there.
Away from the coast, everyone else had a sunny day.
April, 2020. Full-on lockdown and it rained alot. Spring was late but it came. It came without regard to our specific wishes of how or when.
Without much choice we stood still–if just a little bit.
In awe of how quiet the traffic could be. Helpless if we had loved ones already suffering. Easily reactive since we our media diet and wine consumption was off the charts.
Blurry spring green with rain on top.
Go figure.
