Each Picture Is a Story

I decided to be less obvious in the headline that this post was driven by the self-imposed deadline thereabouts on the 21st of each month. Here is my offering of recent photos and some words.

No need for words, dare I interrupt this moment.

This is from our recent visit to the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum.

Gas stations were referred to as Filling Stations from 1905 – 1920’s. AI provided this source for the info.

We’ll be happy to get our new tires installed and blessed by David or Gene. Thanks to technology we can pay via credit cards without carbon paper hanging around.

It’s April 2025 and a United States flag flies in a small New England country town. The beautiful filtered light rivals only late fall in its partial transparency.

small french coffee press used as frother for matcha tea. A thick layer of foamed whole mile on tope of the glass pint glass of matcha tea

I have discovered the most fabulous, low-tech, second purpose of a French Press. Not only for brewing my special high-end beans, all oils intact, freshly roasted by a coffee master in our ‘hood, but it can easily froth milk.

Here is my matcha tea setup. Whip the finely ground matcha up (see my battery operated gadget), in your french press, pour some milk (I use whole milk, presumably some fat in the milk froths better), and pump the press up and down a few times.

Tada! Will you look at the froth in my cup?? And sooo good.

Get on Len’s Coffee email list: I’ve learned hugely by reading his witty caffeinated, geeked-out words that include tasting notes, and small business importing woes. Beware though, you’ll be tempted to buy more caffeine than you can keep up with! Full discloser, I love all of his low or no caffeine options. Right now however, I cannot live without Espresso 33 – Low-Caffeine.

He’s always got a sale going. Locals and friends: If you want me to pick it up for you (save shipping), we can arrange a meet-up. What a good excuse to meet IRL.

…and that’s a wrap for now. Let me know if you’d like a coffee-oriented meetup! -wb.

I love your photographs and words. I am there when you take many of these shots, but I’m not noticing what you are or hearing your thoughts about what you see. I always look forward to Current Seeing and am glad you’re releasing one on (or near) the 21st. xxxooo

So glad, Wendy, that you love the frothing capacity of your French press. I love this, too! Happy spring, and thank you for the photos and words.
