In the act of balancing, there is a little bit of magic. And balancing is helpful when you are thrown into a spell of time where you must or want to point yourself in a different direction.
Transitions are conundrum fulcrum points. They are both the the quiet center and the energy source that drives us toward the next scene, that next sentence where we want to live. We are tossed into wind currents and tides of all sorts.
This is about pointing oneself with some shred of agency. Like Samantha, perhaps your intention is to touch a cloud or to make it scooch over a bit, or just to infuse magic into the situation–you know, get a wiggle on, and create something.
What helps us with balance in these windy rocky places when the earth is anonymous and is bobbing up and down under our feet? Of all things we must have some calibration between our inward and outer parts. Internal and outward facing landscapes. These are cross-currents. Let’s learn to handle a surf board or walk rocky tilted roads with skill.
Resilience is built from that most crucial part, in the middle of it all, at the true-north center –not knowing anything. You’re in the wilderness now. You just don’t know. You hope, but you know nothing really. You feel as you go.
We oscillate between going inward and out. We must. We can’t help it. That is the nature of current.
This is the space of open wonder and softness and humility. It is also the space of twisting pain, anguish, fear and tightness. Varying degrees of everything based upon the specifics.
May we point ourselves in the direction of creating. May we choose construction and kindness. May we allow for not knowing everything. May we keep our balance.
-An end of year blessing that I just made up.
