So Here We Go

Coming up from underground. Exiting onto Park Street from the first subway station in America. Sunday, January 1, 2023.

I still get a little thrill being in Boston proper, though I’ve tromped around generally in the area since 1979. There is DNA history here, where my father’s people passed through, before ending up in Wilton, then Lewiston Maine.

We have history. You, me, and a dog named boo.

Let us go on further.

Let’s share the sidewalk, tuck-in and go forward, ideally with a friend.

There are times when we find a moment in a painted concrete park.

And other times where we run into other world customs that are, well, a bit gross.

Or are they?

Freshness is important.

Learning is always an option.

Thank you for coming along with me in my playing with words and pictures. Based on personal history, I will struggle with perfectionism, but the plan is to publish new content no less than twice once per week.

I just found out that we’ve left the year of the Tiger and now, in 2023, we’re in Rabbit energy.  The Year of the Rabbit, however, embodies yin, the passive principle of the universe, which manifests in relaxation, fluidity, quietness and contemplation.

Listening. I can get behind that and frankly, could use some practice. It gets old, being king of forest.

Wonderful to do this, Wendy. I was thinking of doing a kind of blog myself this year. Maybe poems (I write a lot) and pictures and general musings on growing older. I love that as we age in this current time, we still have the strength and imagination to do things like take wonderful photos and reflect on them. It provides an interesting balance of solitude/reflective thinking and outreach to others who might have similar or different thoughts. Your posts feel like you are totally comfortable in your own skin, which permits more interesting observations. Brava and keep it up

Thank you so much for your generous comment Joey. Years ago I tried starting one but I got weighed down in the technical aspect. Then I found this blog posts that help demystify the the process: https://slightlysorted.com/how-to-start-a-journal-blog ; I still had to submit various support requests to understand certain things but it got me started. I am going the fancy route by having a hosted site (were I have my own URL). And I’ll be getting more help as I try to untangle the many things to learn about this. I hope I can inspire you to follow your musings! -Wendy
